What you are billed for: credits per character
A phone voice agent uses ElevenLabs for one thing, turning the agent's reply text into speech. That is billed in credits.
- Multilingual v2: the pricing FAQ says 1 text character equals 1 credit.
- Flash and Turbo models: the FAQ says discounted pricing applies for API usage, between 0.5 and 1 credit per character.
- One shared pool: every ElevenLabs product draws from the same monthly credits, so dubbing or music work in the same account leaves fewer credits for calls.
- Rollover: on paid plans, unused credits roll over for up to two months while the subscription stays active. Rollover does not apply to the Free plan, and downgrading or cancelling forfeits unused credits.
ElevenLabs also has a separate API pricing page with US dollar list prices per 1,000 characters, and its calculator offers a subscription or pay-as-you-go payment model:
| Model | Price per 1K characters |
|---|---|
| Flash / Turbo | $0.05 |
| v3 Conversational | $0.05 |
| v2 Multilingual | $0.10 |
| v3 | $0.10 |
The pricing FAQ does not give a credits-per-character figure for the v3 models, so we do not state one. Your ElevenLabs usage page is the final word on what each request consumed.
Characters per call: a formula with illustrative numbers
The numbers below are ILLUSTRATIVE. Replace them with character counts from your own call transcripts. Only what the agent speaks is counted, not what the caller says.
- Credits per call = characters spoken by the agent × credits per character for the model
- Calls covered by a plan = monthly credits ÷ credits per call
- API list cost (USD) = characters ÷ 1,000 × price per 1K characters
Illustrative call: a 3-minute appointment confirmation where the agent speaks 1,500 characters.
| Model | Credits used | API list cost |
|---|---|---|
| Multilingual v2 | 1,500 | $0.15 |
| Flash through the API | 750 to 1,500 | $0.075 |
At 1,500 credits per call, Starter's 30,000 credits cover 20 such calls, Creator's 121,000 about 80, Pro's 600,000 cover 400 and Scale's 1.8 million cover 1,200. If Flash lands at 0.5 credit per character, those counts double.
This is only the voice. Telephony minutes, speech recognition and the LLM are billed by those providers. For the whole stack, see AI voice agent cost per minute in India.
Which model suits phone calls, and Indian language support
On a live call, response speed matters as much as tone. ElevenLabs' models documentation gives this guidance:
| Model | Stated latency | Languages | Indian languages listed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eleven Flash v2.5 | about 75ms | 32 | Hindi, Tamil |
| Eleven v3 Conversational | about 280ms | 70+ | Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu |
| Eleven Multilingual v2 | Higher than Flash, per the docs | 29 | Hindi, Tamil |
ElevenLabs notes that these latency figures exclude application and network latency. Its selection guide says to use Flash models for low latency and v3 Conversational for expressive real-time speech. The Turbo models are marked deprecated, with Flash named as the replacement.
Two practical points from the same docs:
- Numbers. Text normalisation is off by default on Flash v2.5 to keep latency low, and ElevenLabs suggests letting the LLM normalise text first. In your agent's system prompt, ask it to write amounts and dates in words.
- Concurrency. The docs list simultaneous Flash requests by plan: 6 on Starter, 10 on Creator, 20 on Pro and 30 on Scale. Extra requests queue. The pricing page shows different concurrency figures, so confirm in your account before a large campaign.
If your language is not listed for a model, test another voice provider on the same agent. Indian voices for AI calls explains how to run that test on a real phone line.
Voice cloning and commercial licence by plan
ElevenLabs lists the Commercial License from Starter upward, and the Free plan card does not show it. A business calling customers should plan for a paid plan.
- Instant Voice Cloning: listed from Starter. The docs describe it as made from short audio samples of less than two minutes.
- Professional Voice Cloning: the docs say a Creator plan or above is required, with extended training audio. A voice captcha verifies that the samples are your own voice.
- How many: the pricing page lists 3 Professional Voice Clones on Scale and 10 on Business.
Always take written consent from the person whose voice you clone, and tell callers they are speaking with an AI assistant where rules require it.
How to add your ElevenLabs key in Convo360
Convo360 is BYOK. You bring your own ElevenLabs account, ElevenLabs bills you directly, and Convo360 adds zero markup on characters. AI voice calls are part of the Pro plan at ₹2,999 per month, excluding 18% GST.
- In your ElevenLabs account, create an API key and copy it.
- In Convo360, open Settings → Provider Keys, choose ElevenLabs and paste the key in the API Key field. Keys are encrypted at rest.
- Open your voice AI agent, select ElevenLabs as the voice provider and pick a voice from the list. Cloned voices are managed in the Voice Library.
- Set the agent's language, then place a test call to your own phone and listen on a normal mobile network.
If the key is invalid or the account has used up its credits, ElevenLabs returns an error. Convo360's Provider Health monitoring detects this and shows a clear alert, so you know the fix is a new key or more credits and not a broken flow. Setup details are in the voice docs.
Ways to keep the ElevenLabs bill down
- Shorter replies. Billing is per character, so tell the agent to answer in one or two short sentences. A 120 character reply costs half of a 240 character one.
- Do not regenerate fixed lines. Record a greeting or disclaimer once and play it with the Play Audio voice block.
- Match the model to the job. On ElevenLabs' API list, Flash and v3 Conversational are $0.05 per 1K characters, while v2 Multilingual and v3 are $0.10.
- Keep the account for calls. Credits are shared, so dubbing or music in the same account eats into call capacity.
- Mind the rollover rule. Unused credits carry forward only while the paid plan stays active, so avoid downgrading in the middle of a campaign.
- Compare yearly billing. ElevenLabs lists yearly plans at 10 months' price once your monthly volume is steady.
Convo360 is not affiliated with ElevenLabs. Prices can change at any time, and the ElevenLabs page is always the final word.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a free ElevenLabs plan?
Yes. As on 17 September 2026, ElevenLabs lists a Free plan at $0 with 10,000 credits per month. The Commercial License line starts from the Starter plan at $6 per month, and credit rollover does not apply to the Free plan, so treat Free as a testing tier.
Is GST extra on ElevenLabs prices?
ElevenLabs' pricing page states that prices exclude all taxes, levies and duties. It lists prices in US dollars and does not mention GST by name, so check your invoice and ask your accountant how the charge should be treated for your business in India.
What is the ElevenLabs price per minute for a voice agent?
Text to speech is billed per character, not per minute. The pricing page shows approximate minutes per plan, such as about 121 on Creator and about 600 on Pro. For your own figure, count the characters your agent speaks in a typical call and apply the formula.
Does ElevenLabs support Hindi and other Indian languages?
Per ElevenLabs' models documentation, Multilingual v2 and Flash v2.5 list Hindi and Tamil. The Eleven v3 models list 70+ languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. Always test your script on a real call before launch.
Can I use my own ElevenLabs account with Convo360?
Yes, that is how it works. Convo360 is BYOK, so you paste your own ElevenLabs API key under Settings → Provider Keys, select an ElevenLabs voice on the agent, and ElevenLabs bills your account directly with zero markup from Convo360.
What happens when my ElevenLabs credits run out during a campaign?
If ElevenLabs returns an error because the quota is used up or the key is invalid, Convo360's Provider Health monitoring detects it and shows a clear alert. The fix is on the ElevenLabs side: upgrade the plan, add credits, or wait for the monthly reset.
